Making My Own- Italian Seasoning

When I am looking for things to make on my own, I often draw from my own recipes to see what I use a lot of, and where I can save money by making it myself. This week is an ingredient that I use in two recipes that frequent my house. Italian seasoning can be used in so many ways, so I'll share how I made my own and how to use them!

I found my recipe at food.com, though I swapped out the parsley with sage.

Mix everything together and keep in an airtight container. This makes about 7-8 tablespoons of mix which comes out to about 2 packets that you would buy from the store.

I use Italian Seasoning on my potatoes in my Cast Iron Chicken, and for this simple slow cooker chicken meal:

3 chicken breasts, frozen is okay!
1 pkg cream cheese
1 can cream of mushroom or chicken soup (make your own here!)
1 pkg italian season, or 3-4 TBSP of mix you just made

Place everything in your crockpot and cook on high for 4-6 hours. Serve with rice!
