I've been bookmarking tutorials for weeks, trying to find one that I thought I wouldn't screw up too much. I'm not a very confident clothes sewer. I can sew little things, crafty things, things for my kids. But when it comes to clothes for me, I'm just a big chicken.
Anyway, I'd love to tell you I found the perfect tutorial/pattern and it was so much easier than I thought and I was worried for nothing.
I didn't. I chickened out. Instead, I made this:
Basically, I sewed two pieces of fabric together at the sides, hemmed it, sewed a casing, and made an elastic waist. (Zippers scare me). For a little more detail, you can follow
this tutorial (minus the ruffle).
It's still pretty cute, but the fit isn't anything fancy. It'll do for a quick summer skirt.
Maybe next time I'll be more brave.
What are you scared to try? Maybe we can overcome our fears together!
