Sister's Challenge {Candy Corn Crafts}: Valerie's Shadowbox

Hey everyone!  Laura and I had so much fun with our Metal Star Challenge that we decided to make a Sister's Challenge a regular feature here at Occasionally Crafty.  Each season or holiday we will be choosing a source material, and each of us will make our own craft-- no consulting with each other!
This challenge started with something easily found during fall/Halloween: Candy Corn!
I love to craft with my Silhouette, so I put together an awesome haunted house and combined it with some trick-or-treaters.  A little "Trick or Treat" word art was the final touch.  I cut my design out of black vinyl and applied it to the front of an 8x10 shadowbox.

White cardstock makes the perfect backdrop for both the vinyl and the orange candy corn to pop.

This is a simple project that makes a big impact!

You can download the Studio Cut File here! (only opens in Silhouette Studio)

Make sure you stop by tomorrow to see what Laura came up with!

I'll be linking this up to some of these parties.  Come party with me!

  2. Hi,
I love this idea and want to make one of my own. What font did you use for the "trick or treat"?
