I've got to be honest. I'm a little jealous of all the ladies who have craft rooms. Or even a whole side of a room for crafts. My creative space is our home office/guest bedroom/preschool room (for my son)/sewing table/craft room. Sigh..... I would guess that I'm not alone in NOT having a "pin"-worthy craft space, though.
Our catch-all space is decorated with a baseball motif, since it was originally my husband's office space. We've never gotten around to changing it up, so I decided to just ignore what's there and carve out a little space for my own. I knew a few bright colors and some inspiration would give me just the bump I need to stay creative.
This is my little creative space:
I bought the hoops and letters at Hobby Lobby, and the fabric was leftover scraps from my Sweet Scallops tote. The "beautiful things" printable came from Landee See, Landee Do. The "measure twice, cut once" came from Oh Sweet Joy. And I apologize, but I cannot remember where I got the "Keep Calm and Get the Sea Ripper" one from.
This looks like a cabinet, but the door actually opens up to make a perfect sewing table, and the end props up for extra length. I'd love to paint this table but am a little scared. What color would you paint it? I was thinking maybe red or black....
I'll also admit that I do a lot of crafting at the kitchen table. If you're like me and have limited space for your sewing and crafting, don't hesitate to make it your own.
Sharing at some of these parties this week: come check them out with me!
I have a craft nook and i still craft at the kitchen table. : ) I love what you did with the walls, very pin'able. : )
ReplyDeleteI am an exposed wood type of girl. I don't really paint any of the wood in my house.
ReplyDeleteAnd I do have a craft/sewing room, but it isn't pin worthy, it is usually too messy.
I love, love, love this! I especially love your sewing table. Very welcoming and cozy. ;)
ReplyDeleteThis looks great! I am doing the same thing for my home office.
ReplyDeletelove that wall!! I'm so inspired to do the fabric wall hangings on my kitchen wall! Is that kitchen appropriate? Great job!!
ReplyDeleteYour wall is just so adorable! I just lucked out an was given a tub of some old crafting stuff and their were several hoops in there and I want to do something like this!

Thanks! I appreciate you stopping by! Your blog is awesome- what a great mix of inspiration. Those pink and black toenails are adorable. Maybe I'll give that a try next.....
DeleteVery cute & colorful! I love those little sayings on the wall...especially the seam ripper one!
ReplyDeleteI like the hoops. I am in the process of transforming the kid's playroom into my craft room and as I look over at my daughter's castle on the sofa table I wonder if I am making the right decision. Having more space means more junk:)

It's a Wrap Link Party at Artful Rising
Erika- that's so true.... I'm sure my husband thinks I already have plenty of space, as it is usually all over the room. Good luck with your transformation!
DeleteOh! I love this wall. What fun colors you chose. I'd love for you to share this at my link party.

You are not alone! My Craft at the kitchen table and my sewing space is in our bedroom. I have the exact same table!
ReplyDeleteIt's a very useful table, right? Thanks so much for stopping by!
DeleteI LOVE your space. You know what's sad? I have an entire room but I have never even organized it. So your space is much more pretty and organized that my room ever has been!! Cute colors! Thanks for inspiring! Thanks for sharing at oopsey daisy!
ReplyDeleteSo cute - I have the same sewing table as you! I use the wall in front of me as a design wall (just a fleece blanket stuck to the wall with 3M sticky tape) but I love your fabric in hoops idea!
